Physiotherapy Services

Our aim is to help you relieve your pain or discomfort as well as restore your movement and function whether you have been affected by injury, surgery, poor posture, illness or by disability.

We can help with a wide range of conditions including:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Postural pain
  • Shoulder injuries
  • Sports injuries
  • Work-related injuries
  • Arthritic and rheumatic conditions
  • Trapped nerves
  • Post-surgical injuries
  • Dizziness/vertigo

With the aim of helping you to get back to normal as soon as possible, we use a variety of techniques to achieve your goals, including:

  1. Manual therapy or mobilisation: This involves specific movement of a joint, which is usually quite gentle, to coax the joint to move correctly and without pain

  2. Massage: This may be relaxing and superficial to encourage blood flow and healing, or more direct and firm to release tight knotted muscles

  3. Manipulation: When a joint is very stiff, or “locked”, manipulation of the joint can “unlock” it. These techniques are used with care, and NEVER without a full explanation of the procedure, and your consent.

  4. Exercise programmes: Exercises are always part of the treatment plan, and may be designed to stretch and strengthen muscles, move the joints, or increase general fitness.

  5. Advice & education: This may take the form of postural correction, advice on work-specific tasks, training in back care and lifting, work-station advice, or simply ideas on how to make the day-to-day tasks less physically stressful.

The clinic has a very “hands on” approach.  We don’t use electrical machines. We may use the grassed and paved areas outside the clinic for walking or running analysis and movement.
